One of the focus areas of a successful hiring process is the customer experience. It’s a concept so pervasive in the HR landscape that in fact, many of today’s biggest companies have made a huge leap forward in improving their candidate experience. Such companies that are pushing their candidate experience beyond the status quo includes firms like Deloitte, Google, Accenture, Intel, Jet Blue, and Capital One.
In today’s highly competitive job market, providing awesome and satisfying candidate experience is often all that it takes to get the finest candidates from the unlimited talent pool. When done right, an optimized candidate experience can drive referrals, improve employment brand, and achieve high-level of loyalty which isn’t easily attainable through other interactions.
On the flipside, negative candidate experience can severely impact a company’s ability to hire the best talents in their industry. In a research undertaken by Harris Interactive across 3,991 full-time employees, they found out that a company who fail to deliver quality candidate experience may likely suffer the following consequences:
- 42% of job seekers would never seek employment at the company again.
- 22% would tell others not to work there.
- 9% would tell others not to purchase products or services from the company
Another research from Career Builder also reveals that many companies are yet to tweak their process of maximum candidate experience. In the study, it’s stated that 86% of job seekers believe employers should treat candidates with the same respect as current employees.
However, only 49% of job seekers say employers treat candidates with the same level of respect and accountability as current employers. Even companies themselves said that their current process leaves so much to be desired, with only 46% saying their recruitment process was “very good” when it comes to ensuring candidate experience.
As you can see, candidate experience has a big impact on the overall competitiveness of a company. Here are few reasons why providing an awesome candidate experience should be a priority in your business today.
- Enhanced Employer Branding
Providing excellent candidate experience will boost your company’s reputation as an employer thus strengthening your value proposition to best candidates in the market.
